When I was doing my research on this herbal tea, I tried to find some scientific evidence showing Tulsi could relieve stress and other stress related problems. That’s why I did some literature research from PubMed, a free search engine comprises more than 26 million citations for biomedical literature. I always do my research there when I’m not sure whether a particular product’s claim is valid or not.

After searching for relevant research articles for a while, I changed my mind and I admitted that I was too skeptical about it. Because I found some articles showing Tulsi could help with stress.

For example, according to School of Health Sciences of RMIT University in Australia, tulsi has anti-anxiety and anti-depressant effects which are comparable to both diazepam and antidepressants drugs when experimenting in animals (1).   2. I have never heard about this tea before, just I knew that generally herbal teas are very useful and healthy for you.

    This one looks really nice. Especially because it is caffeine free and I don’t tolerate caffeine. I was wondering how much you would need to drink it to feel stress relief effect?

      I think one cup is enough for reducing your stress. Personally, I don’t suggest drinking too much like drinking 3 or 4 tea bags per day. According to founder of toxicology, anything is toxic if taking in too much. So, just be aware of this even though tulsi is good for our health and has stress relief effect.

Such a great and very in depth review about Tulsi Tea, it sounds like such a good product if you have stress and anxiety and I’m definitely going to think about getting some for when I’m going through particularly stressful times. I know you said some people do feel energised after drinking it but would you recommend it as a product mostly to drink on an evening or before bed or do you think it would be suitable as a morning drink as well to get you ready for the day ahead?
